No fire the last 2 nights. Supposed to be lower 40’s tonight and tomorrow night. Not done burning here yet.
Still in the 40's and 50's here with overcast and drizzly. Since the stove is in the basement, it's easy to just have one fire a day to keep the house right where she likes it. 73*
Wed night proved to be below freezing once again. Thu was a nice sunny and dry day. Sitting right at freezing now; may even see 60's today and tomorrow!
Nowt yet , just whacked a few balls cut my own hair , showered and now sat by pond cos we can’t go anywhere . I’ll be sparking her up when dun goes down
Officially it got up to 78 today. No fire needed. I did split and stack the bottom part of a dead elm that lost its top a couple of years ago. I am trying to find a few hours of good weather per day to get some wood put up.
58 Put this in Thursday morning. Had to shave 3/4” off the butt flare to get it in the door. Still making heat and hot water. Probably be good all day tomorrow.
Another warm day in the 60's here but looks like colder weather will start moving in tonight with 37 predicted. Looks like a cool week coming up and probably will see several frosts. Not good with several blossoms opening. Apple blossoms will start opening probably late this week; peach is in full blossom.
Been a beautiful day here. About 75/76 right now. Wind has kicked up this afternoon but that is all good. We really need a lot of drying time. Temps dropping tomorrow. High of 47 and they will be staying down for awhile.
Woke up to 39 & light rain earlier. Alder & maple in the stove. Enjoying a coffee & slice of apple pie.
Swamp maple burning now. I didnt want to shut the stove down anyway. Polar vortex could bring historically cold temperatures to Ontario
Sounds like you guys are heading for some cool May weather! We had snow/rain/graupel/yesterday and highs of 4c/39f which was to cool for me. It did inspire me yesterday to fire up the stove after getting a truck load of wood!
