Great looking load! Regardless of how you get it out of there we know your going to kick some, well you get the idea.
You could load logs in that truck with a skid steer. Gotta push em in from the back. A choke chain or two. Drop the ends of four or five logs on the tail of the truck. Hoist em up from behind and push them in. Much easier if you had a helping hand to do the chains work. Not sure if that’s possible for you these days.
Way more time involved compared to just cutting, loading by hand, and hauling out. Loaded that truck in 35 minutes
You'd better get er all. With the economy heading south due to covid I'm betting firewood is gonna be a hot item this year. Nice score!
Nice score! Dump truck has to be helpful. Trailer is great , but access at times is challenging. Congrats
Haha, I knew you’d say that. And you are right no doubt. I saved a lot of time in my youth. Don’t worry, you pay it all back eventually
An older co worker once told me when I was a young buck, "it's better to burn diesel fuel than calories". Now I get it.
I get what you guys are saying and I agree if the rounds are really big. However these guys are small ish so I consider it a workout
But things changed big time today! I hired a kid to load but the property owner drops off two of his guys- Mexicans and tells them to move rounds, brush, and run the skid steer. First truck was loaded in no time. We got out 2 of each today and there’s a bunch more laying on the ground for tomorrow. I must have cut down at least 20 trees today but called it quits when the winds picked up to 30+. I had some pucker moments when the wind came into the face of the direction of fall and completely closed the kerf. Used some wedges but still did t think too much if it. Here are some pics...and it looks like I’m taking every tree!
Wind should die down and after watching the news when I got home, I underestimated the wind, we were close to 50 mph
