Log Load 4

Hickory, ash and maple. By looking around I am guessing there are two more loads at his house and 5-7 more on landing. This is all two miles from the house. Wood gods called my name this year! Must be years of sketchy craigslist scrounges was my prepayment

Good looking wood. The log deck slowly grows. Have you cut much from your own lot this year?

 

I had a small log pile I started last fall, I think I put up about 2 cord from my property. I have removed many of the rough/dead trees, so this is a good year to leave my trees alone!

 

I can hear them breathing a sigh of relief from here! Any milling stock in those logs?

 

I am pretty confident there is milling stock in there. I recently got a nice lathe, so I am looking for unique cuts to make bowls and other things. Everything I do lately is focused around wood!

 

I seem to eat, breath and sleep it! Story of my life lately too. I dont mill, but the other buzzsaw has started. Now im looking at logs for their lumber value rather than btu value! Unfortunately neither of us has the ability to move big wood so for now he'd have to mill where it is.

If you ever think you want to get into moving some of the bigger stuff, check out Matt Cremona and his log arch. Pretty clever guy, and especially if you have an able trailer already, pretty cheap to construct.
