I'm looking to try something a little different tonight, what are some of your old favourites for the grill?
We picked up some steak tips in some kind of bourbon marinade last night at our butchers shop. It's not quite a 'go to' just yet but has the potential.
Jerk chicken with mango chutney Fry some plantains, slice, put aside. Find a jerk chicken rub recipe. When you get that, put the jerk rub on chicken pieces, grill. When chicken is about done, grill the sliced plantains. When everything is cooked, put the chicken pieces in between the plantain slices, like a sandwich, top with a mango chutney or salsa. Eat, and enjoy life!
Grilled pork shoulder steaks with home-made BBQ sauce is pretty common at my house...grilled along side whatever veggies are coming out of the garden and a potato boat (sliced taters and onions, butter, favorite seasonings, all wrapped in foil) and grilled garlic bread.
I can't keep reading this thread stuck here at work with no food! It's driving me nuts! (Stomach growling)
It got much later than I expected, so I picked up some brat patties and stuff bell peppers to make a quick meal for tonight. But... I did get all the stuff for the Caribbean jerk chicken for tomorrow.
I was too busy swearing at the truck to take pictures, but here is my version of jerked chicken (from last night). Singetreu stopped by for a while and watched me jerk it.
Adam. Just stop. This is getting out of hand. Just kidding. Looks incredible and I second what savemoney said. By the way, how were the plantains? Never had one.
They were more banana like than I expected, I could have just grilled bananas and not known the difference. And for the record, I don't always cook like this but I was in an experimental mood.
