22 overnight. Been snowing off and on today and supposed to get snow then rain through tomorrow night.

But finally we are getting a day that is not windy. That is a relief. And I'm also very tired of having to wear a Carhartt coat when I go outside.

Everything was white this morning but I managed to get 16 yards of gravel spread and several trees blocked up with the help of a friend. damm near froze in that wind today. Had to put a rope on most of what we cut

27/75 on coals. With sun and 50 today won’t need much of a reload. Looks like we’ll be burning well into May, hopefully not June though. Long range forecast isn’t promising. At least it’s good weather for CSS

45 predicted today and then all 50's. Might see a 60 next week they say.

Most of the snow has melted that we got last night but it is still white out there.

Hi all it's been a while. No fire today as it's 53 & partly sunny where we are in OR. We relocated here mid December. We're currently residing at/caretakers for a family member's property, while they are living at/renovating a rental property. It was a win-win for us, as we sold our home/land and (when the pandemic ends) can begin exploring homesteading options in OR, WA, ID . I also sold our firewood stash, some of my saws and our splitter to the buyer in a package deal. Shortly after arriving, we began to focus on css-ing the lengths in the wood yard. The property is approx 27 acres/23 wooded with plenty of trees marked for felling. There is also a BLM area approx 1/2 mile up the road from us. Bonus: a tractor, 2 atv's, a trailer, suv, and 37 ton splitter on site . . "use 'em". I also bought me an Iso-Core (pronounced I's-so-sore).

Still having fires every night and usually a small reload in the morning. Everything was white Wednesday morning and there’s 3-6” on tap for Sunday night into Monday. Oh joy! It won’t last long thankfully. I need to bring in the last of this season’s wood today. About 2-3 weeks worth left at this rate and it looks like we’ll need it.
Stay safe out there and don’t go drinking any Lysol

Came flying out of bed at 5am thinking it was Monday !!! WTF is up with that.
Got up read the news , watched the bird feeder at sunup , and went out and put a small load in boiler. Bunch of punky chit and 6 shovels of chips n chit Checked cold frames on the way in. Got spinach and lettuce up about an inch.
Supposed to hit high 50s today. Had snow 4 days this week. Crazy for the end of April even here in the snow belt.
Will likely be burning well into June for HW and taking the chill off.

Again went a night without freezing but very close. Warming up now at 45 and forecast 56. Yesterday we reached 50. Tomorrow the wind returns... We could do without that.
