Dont mean to hit "like"......maybe this is more a "commiserate"?
Awful.....you have maybe even a non-covid-19 related illness or injury, and have to weigh in whether you should go to the hospital or not, worrying about covid-19 exposure and all.....I can see it now.....hmm....that looks like 6-10 stitches......duct tape and super glue might be a better remedy......
In reality, with all our folks out, the rest of us are having to more than double down on work to keep the customer populace happy.....dont really know how long we can keep it up from a physical and mental standpoint. From this side of the fence, people are NOT being more understanding....still expecting the same levels of service as pre-covid.
We also sell building materials. Had a guy constructing a building who ordered trusses a couple weeks ago refuses to understand that they will be delayed due to the truss company having about half of the workers they normally have.....
"well, if you cant get them delivered by next week, then Ill go somewhere else.."
"Ok, we dont build the trusses, and if you havent noticed, there IS a state of emergency, I guess you should try to get them somewhere else..."
    "OK"
    and hour later......
"uh....can I still get them in a couple weeks......."
we wanted to say "no, its 5 weeks now...", but we were so busy we didn't have the time to cancel the order, so he's still good........

Out here in Oregon the Covid is nowhere near as prevalent.....

    A few cases...more sporadic though.
Seems to be more isolated to nursing homes/care facilities and hospice units.

My Son in law is a Captain on the local fire dept and he mentioned that they have responded to a few cases of Covid so far.......

    Stay safe folks.....

I didn't say he was involved with what was going on just that he might watch something since he was bored.

I get the same message as does my wife. Both retired and I've been disabled with MS for 5 years.

Good that you finally got an answer!

I too got good news today. Our group needed to get rid of 4 people for the 4% reduction in salaried employees. I'm assuming that "my group" consists of all the direct and indirect reportees,to my boss' boss. Two volunteered for retirement which gives them 2 weeks pay, plus a week for every year they have been there. There will be no rehires from this group. Two people just transferred out to other areas this month. Apparently the hard line in the sand was drawn before those two transferred, so they count as a "reduction" in our area. Of course that means we also can't replace them - but at lease we hit the number without anyone having to make a hard decision. Doesn't mean that more reductions won't be down the pike, but we'll enjoy the good times while we can (while working extra hours to cover of course).
