Drop as many of them as you can... SOBs. One of em would prolly be all it would take for our lil Giz. Neighbors here have seen one walking down the road at 5 in the afternoon earlier this spring. I've found coy scat out on our front lawn... might be the same one. I'm always watching the corners of the house when I'm letting Giz out first time in the morning and last out at night. Can usually tell if her radar is off the charts tho, so that helps. Dam coyotes...

Good reason to add a fenced in area to your house so you can prevent your Giz from encountering them. Coyotes are cunning and able to overpower your domesticated friend. I have such an area attached. Peace of mind is worth a lot. Never have I have encountered so many predators as I have seen lately around here.

I hope I'm not proven wrong but... I'm counting on the one thing that sometimes drives me nuts about Giz... her shrieking at anything, especially other dogs. She'd go ballistic if she saw a coyote, and I'm hoping it would startle it enough to head off. I know, if she's off the retractable leash tho, she'd prolly be toast before I could get to her. She'd charge at it, and that wouldn't be good. Any coyotes seen here, if I can get a shot off, I always will. All neighbors around us are shooters so...

I was trusting until something got my 17 year old cat. I hunted for some sign of him for weeks. Now with bobcat, fishers etc. seen from window, I know these predators are brave and hungry. I'm not providing their dinner.

Don't have any cats here, but the road up to our old farm from town, was about 3 miles. One year more than 15 cats were taken by coyotes along that road. Unreal how many of them there are in some parts of the state. I never go up to the cabin without noise maker.

Yeah they can. Buddy had one in a cage trap in the back of his truck. Putting your hand a couple inches from the top and she'd almost come right through the dam cage, spittin and snarling. I would not want to pizz her off outside that cage.

I caught a couple of coons, in the live trap when I was trapping groundhogs, and I let em go, no more

I caught a skunk in a live trap when trying to get groundhogs. I gave up the trapping and resorted to throwing rocks. I have taken out 2 groundhogs this year. Same lucky rock twice.

Same problem here. Although I know some people who pop them with an air rifle. I don't need the hassle. I'll tell you I was mighty surprised the first time I scored a direct hit with a rock.

Grounds hogs are pretty tender aren't they? Watched our huskies take em out over many years and a couple quick shakes and they were done.
