I can smell that fresh tilled dirt!

 

I just put two docks in the water. After an hour in the water installing and leveling them by myself, I dont know how I wasnt hypothermic. Had to spend 20 minutes in the hot tub to coax the boys back out.

 

Cold front just blew thru here with high winds and rain which has now turned to snow. Temp. @ 4:00 was 52, right now it is down to 35 and forecast to go down to 14 tonight. Ain't spring grand !!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Busy day spent mostly outside. There was about a foot of leaves behind the barn. I cleaned it all out and mulched it into the lawn.


All the P.O. flower pots that were under the leaves.



I can't say enough about the de-thatcher I picked up. I am reclaiming sections of the edges of the woods that were covered in leaves and branches. Such a labor saver, and worth every penny.



The area left of the maple tree in the center was brush and leaves this morning. I'll go even more to the left to the tree line when I get the MS 170 repaired hopefully tomorrow. The little maple is going. The spruce to the left is dead standing, but the woodpeckers are enjoying it and it is not dropping branches. I leave a lot of dead snags for the birds. There is a chickadee pair cleaning out a red pine snag near the swamp.





I split half this pile and stacked it. Before pics. Splitter is running great.



The spruce was not having it today. It made the elm seem easy.



I'm hoping to finish splitting the rest of the rounds tomorrow and getting them stacked. I have a sweet wood stack going up and it holds a lot of wood. It should gold this whole pile in its' foot print.

 

Today I was lawn seed guy. I filled in some low spots last fall but the soil was wet sloppy crap. I tilled it today and seeded er down. Grow you little buggers grow!

No pictures, but my helpers came out, and we split and hauled wood like crazy. Even with some rain co I got down, not a complaint. Then spent a few hours visiting. A nice break for them and us.

Having some equipment is helping greatly. This clean up would have taken all day without it.

I am working. I'm up around 4:30 am everyday. We have a state holiday today, so I'll go out to stack a bit, have second breakfast and go to the Stihl dealer if they are open. Then splitting time for the rest of that pile. I'm going to re-position the splitter location for more efficiency. I hope to get the pile finished by lunch.
