You are the one holding all the cards (and the checkbook) don't "fall in love" with the vehicle, and be ready to walk out at any time...give it a few days, or weeks, you might be surprised what they are suddenly willing to do. If they sell it in the meantime, oh well, Honda made plenty, there will be another. When they say "how can we earn your business today?" give them your offer, and then stick to it...if that can't, or won't do that, oh well, see ya later. Don't accept their counter offer, unless you lowballed them in the first place and are actually willing to pay their counter offer. Like has been mentioned, people willing to buy a $25k car are in short supply these days
Yup, if you do find one that is lazy or stupid, they wont last long. And honest ones don't last long either...unless they work for the right dealer...there are still a few honest car dealers out there...probably more common among privately owned small town places.
I think it is a bit early to buy yet. Wait another month or 6 weeks and the prices should really be easy to negotiate.
Good info and advise. I'll wait a few days, offer around $24K, see what happens. I don't mind if this drags out for a few weeks or longer.
Ok, just offered $ 24,271 out the door, taxes included. Local registration I excluded. NADA value was well over $28K. I told them I'm in no rush, amongst other things. We shall see...
Would you be happy to meet them halfway? I know this price is what you originally mentioned (in your first post) but that was 10 days ago and a lot has happened since then. The ball is in your court for this deal, not theirs.
I just countered with $25K, not a penny more. I'll get it and I'm Ok with the price. For an EX trim package, the darn thing has everything the wife wants. edit- and I'm going to work in a "clear bra" into this package, watch.
Clear bra?? Now you have my interest... But why do I get the feeling that I'm gonna be disappointed...?
Yes. This. I just sent an addendum to my previous note that the "clear bra" was understood to be included in my agreed price. I can only imagine the head shaking and language after they read that.
Ok, it's in the driveway right now, they delivered it this morning. Pretty impressed with it. Maintained 2900 rpm @ 68 mph up a 7% grade, smooth as silk. The '13 won't do that, it'll be 1K rpm higher. I am very pleased with how this worked out. Due to various this/that/and the other thing, I won't go into detail. Suffice to say, when it's all done and paid for, we will have paid $3400 less for this '19 vs. our '13.
Congrats! Glad you got a great deal on it! I was wondering to myself today how it was going. This is a CRV LX right? Sunroof?
