Well I took this saw apart about a year and half ago and with all this down time staying at home I decided to start getting it back together. The reason I took it apart was the original plastic case had a part come loose with the oiler and it broke a bunch of pieces of the plastic behind the clutch. The only real way to fix it was to get another case. I bought a used one off ebay. So I cleaned up the crank case and cylinder and noticed the crank seals did not look to good so I ordered so new ones and once they arrive I will put it together.

I did take some pictures with my phone so hopefully I will remember how to piece it back together.

I don’t mind working on them .they’re not as hateful to do as some folks let on . The only thing I generally don’t like is putting the top front anti vibe mount back in .

Yep definitely not one of my strong points. All the parts are in a box on the floor so no problems finding things.

I’ve got 2 of them to work on. First one has a cracked fuel tank where someone ran it over. The second needs a new crank- it just snapped one day when I fired it up. They have been sitting for a while, but my list of stuff to do has been shrinking a little

Having a crank break on you is not something you see everyday.

No, it was used and abused riding around on a farm truck before I got it. The temperature had dropped from 90 to 30 in 36 hours. I usually kept the chain tension pretty tight, as it was on my chore truck that I used to fix fence. Started it up, trimmed a branch, hit the chain brake, then nothing... broke right at the chain brake. B11301E8-E9D8-4D0D-85BC-FE237FECACEA.jpeg

I did think about that but the piston and cylinder are like brand new and decided not to spend more money on it. I got this saw for free because of the cost from a shop to repair it.
I already have 2 036 pros and 2 ms 460 plus about 50 other saws.

Well I got the crank case seals in and got the saw all put together except for the oiler which I had to order some more parts for. I did start the saw today and so far it tuned up real well. Had to put a new o-ring on the fuel tank flippy cap and all is good. I did clean up the ports on the cylinder when I had it apart and I opened up the muffler and put a spark arrestor in it, so it can be used on national forest land.
