Hit the score today for a bit. Started at the bottom of the driveway and worked my way up. Good sized cherry sectioned up and a chunk still attached to the rootball. Shocked to see how good it was after 23 months. Most of the bark came off and very little punk. Got more cherry than locust today. rolled this log to buck and no rot where it touched the ground. Is cherry that rot resistant? Decent amount. Already had some maple in PU. Wanted the locust and the cherry was a bonus
Get it if you can, white oak will last a long time, especially the heart wood. Hope you have room to store it.
