I don't know why anyone would even organize a rally like that under the circumstances, you know there's plenty of idiots that will not conform to the distancing like they should.

Well the wife said make them ALL sign a DNR order . Makes sense to me , they want to purposely endanger themselves and others but as soon as there sick they’ll want the best health care possible . I agree with HDRock , just not the time for this protest . Heck , watch the news , it’s not like we are the only state with stay home orders . We were the 3rd state with the most cases and I’m sure down on the list for most populated . Something serious needed to be done .

Not the only country either. We've been sheltered in for a month now and heard today it has been extended into summer up here.

Everyone's getting a bit cranky over this crap.

I surely don't understand some of the restrictions being placed.

No gatherings.. fine.. close the damm golf courses as well.
    :yes::yes::yes:

Telling people they can't travel to another property they own???
    :loco:

Aside from stopping for gas, exactly where is the risk involved?

Gardening supplies and seeds should be considered essential.

I have next door neighbors at the cottage and at this residence. They both winter out of state....Florida and Colorado. They are allowed to return here with no restrictions or quarantines mandated.

Restricting me from buying paint or seeds does nothing to stop the spread. You might as well restrict everyone from shopping for food too, its the same as putting a gallon of pain into your cart, no?

I hope your wife stays safe but, she's got to be shaking her head about the snow birds too!

The risk is in those fine folks getting to their 2nd home and then going shopping or visiting friends once they get there instead of staying at said home for a couple weeks.
You CANNOT get this thing unless you have contact with it. Period. If they bring it with them, and do those things I mentioned, they just put a whole 'nother city/community at risk.
    Community spread.
SisIL mentioned the only way to stop it is to make the stay at home mandatory. I told her there's another way..............let those who don't care go about their business. Let nature take it's course.
The unfortunate part of my thought is all those who'll get taken down with them.
There was a woman at the capitol today with a sign that said "dog grooming should be essential". Huh? Maybe to her....probably her job, but really? Not a whole lot of social distancing going on there today, except those in vehicles. It got so bad the National Guard was called in to move said vehicles.......they were blocking routes to the hospital. I'm presuming Sparrow.
I'll stay home and away from the idiots.

Flaw in the system. Many flaws in the system, but w/o some sort of system, all heii would break loose....worse than it has.
Just an FYI, I don't like her. Never have, but as GOV. she has to do something or she'd be roasted worse than she is now.
I watched the coronavirus on the map that was tracking cases last month into this month (still is). You could actually watch it move right up the I75 corridor. Same across the state along I94. Folks "going north" and west to their "cottages" and stopping along the way passing out the virus. Maybe not even aware of it.
I wouldn't even let my brother or SisIL come over into the house.......didn't know where they'd been. That was over a month ago.

Here’s my beef with NOT having some sort of traveling restrictions. Let’s forget all the stops one makes traveling . Who knows what Dave’s neighbors brought in from stopping at gas stations , eating , hotels , ect...and that’s just a few people near him .

I live 4 miles from 2 pretty good size campgrounds/resorts . Somewhere around 600 sites ( 400 plus are permanent) and the other park is at least 700-800 with all most of those permanent. I own a park model at one of them . I also winterize and open around 90 of these campers /park models in the park I stay at . On May 1st the parks open unless the restrictions are extended . May 1st is a Friday this year and if the parks are open there will easily be 300 plus people there . Many use the park as a summer home and live out of state but not all . A lot of the people are from the Detroit metro area as well . It’s their “ second home “ . I sell firewood ( not this year until things settle down ) in bundles at the campground opening weekend is probably on of the best weekends behind memorial and the the 4th .

So, first thing all these people will do is go to the store . Obviously food is not left inside during the winter . Just a huge impact on the small towns near me . Is it really worth the risk at this point in time ? Can’t we make sure our hospitals are prepared better with PPE before we start opening things up ? Maybe by May 1st the cases will have dropped dramatically? I pray they do .
I can tell this is really taking a toll on my wife and she’s been a RN for 28 years .

My daughter is still working , she works at the airport, she has PPE , she is fine for now except for the fact that it is scary for her to be at work , but there's no way I'm going over to her house to visit, that's where all this stuff started at the airports

One of ours is still working too. Last I heard they were trying to setup a "work from home" deal for them.

The virus was known about in November , China didn't go into lock town until January 23rd with so much air travel , I think, It's kind of naive to think that the virus had not already spread across the world ,

So would the out of state people.

If there's no restrictions on them, then it really makes little sense to restrict "in state" movement.

The flu will find it's way around, much like invasive pests. We might slow the spread, but we will not be able to stop it.

Either way, I still think it's a bit of a stretch to restrict people's movements on their own property.. or between.

Heck.. the "stimulus" money went out this week.. do you think Wal-Mart has anything left on its shelves?
    :faint:

Nice way to keep people sheltered in place.. give them money to go spend.
