Looking good Jeff. Chaz's work had split up guys work schedule. Chaz volunteered to go to 2nd. Then he asked if he could do 4 10. This week he is adjusting it to 2 on, 1 off, 2 on. That way he has a little sanity break in there. His boss is one of the greatest persons I know.
jrider , I've started cutting on the forks like you do...with the smaller logs...even using the MS180 a good bit, it's light and easy to use with my measuring stick.
We did get a little storm damage wood cleaned up. A widow and her daughter had started cutting down a few oaks and then had a big maple top break out last night, landed on the ground up on to the roof. We were able to help her get it cleaned up, she gave us all the wood. We were done by 12:15...
I guess Midwinter and buZZsaw BRAD have rubbed off on me. Grabbed a little roadkill Bradford pear the other morning and nearly a load of dogwood and maple this morning.
its soooooo hard to drive by wood on the side of the road and not stop! Takes a LOT of self restraint. Nice little get! Looks like Ms. Carol will be busy with the little saw on those!
I envy you the dogwood. You must have a lot more that we do down there. It doesn't grow wild here, just ornamentals.
Man-o-man there's some nice logs in those pics. Have you ever considered milling them or having a portable band guy come out for a visit? Nice wide oak like that is !

Yes ma'am, we're doing fine, I've been working solo a good bit lately, Miz Carol has that new grandson to spoil...she's been helping our daughter a good bit with him, he has a 3yr brother.
There is a guy will a band mill about 3 miles from home. He has sawn some boards for us before. We used to have a mill back in the 80's. When dad started building furniture, we could buy nice oak boards, kiln dried and graded fairly cheap. We have gotten some 22-24" wide. If there was much demand around where we live, would be nice to get a knotty trunk live edge slab done.
You mean like this Those other sheds, the oak is sopping wet green, trying to let more air get through and one row on those sheds is a pick up load, 1/3 cord.

The Good Lord really blessed us today. The electrical contractor at our plant stopped by my control room Monday, said he had a pretty good oak go down the other day. He called and said he would be home after lunch today. When we got there......he had already cleaned off all the smaller limbs and big limbs were in several piles. It's about 20-25 miles from home, but I think its worth it. Did I mention he's loading it too?. Hauled 2 loads this afternoon, at least 2 more to finish that tree. 1st load was just bigger limbs he had cut and piled. Loading one of the trunk sections Haven't loaded the butt section yet Put some smaller stuff on the bottom. I'll get a better picture later.
Wow, T.Jeff, can't say no to that! Especially with the skid steer assist! Sometimes the driving is part of the equation...
