Damm though! 8.0 is pretty heavy....... I guess those islands are the most at risk, and the coast. Crazy!

According to the state website it was a 7.07. I'm not sure where 7.9 and 8.0 is coming from? 12:53 PM AKDT 7.07 ML In any case it was about 1400 miles from here. BTW, who the heck wrote that article?! ...than it was to Anchorage, Alaska's capital city. Ah...what now?!
Wow, glad you all have checked in. Enough to worry about! Good to hear the wood pile is still standing. Experienced one quake when I was in the military near Los Angeles. Shook everything. The ground had a wave in it just like snapping a blanket. Telephone poles swaged back and forth. Buildings cracked, and thing were tossed off the walls onto the floor. I ran outside as fast as my legs would take me. I once drove by a place that had a fence that was broken, about 6 feet away it continued . That was the result of a quake and the ground slipping on a fault line. No thank you. We have occasional quakes here. Worse we ever get is a tremor.
