For giggles there are also potential health issues which I don't care to discuss.

Suggest very strongly you obtain the services of a lawyer before going any distilling even a single drop of alcohol.

Smokey, I have to ask? If the FED's said you couldn't have purple underwear, would you follow? Somethings are trivial and speeding over 65 is against the law as well here in NJ but "NOBODY" goes 65mph or you'll get run over! Do you really care soooooo much about such little "legal" infractions? I did counter narcotics for 6 years and you cannot arrest everyone! You would need a jail the size of Maine?

I take the message as - roll the dice, if you want. It's only a problem if you get caught.

once again dave you are right, common sense needs to be taken into account . as far as alcohol in most if not all locals in the us you can make it in certain quantities for personal use . there all laws about transporting it across state lines ,again quantity is an issue ,hundreds if not thousands of mass residents buy liquor in nh which is legal but you can only cross back in to mass with 1 gallon per person and of course that law is not followed or enforced. i entered maine many years ago from nh and was caught with over a gallon of nh beer in my vehicle and was fined ,my vehicle was a canoe but that's a story for another time .and no never paid the fine ,maybe there is a warrant for me ? who knows. just another example of an overreaching govt. ,they need money to keep operating so they try to regulate every part of your life ,in the past year i have been dealing with a relatives estate and have sold more cars than mass wants me to ,i received a letter saying i was a unlicensed dealer of automobiles ,about two months ago i received a call from the mass enviornmental police and they threatened me because i was selling taxidermy in mass. while not having a taxidermy licence ,what the hell is that ? yes it is illegal to sell your dead uncles moose head in mass ,we all break laws every day because we dont know we are doing it, in some cases we do know ,i trapped a possum for a friend that was causing a problem with his chickens, you guessed it illegal in mass ,most types of traps are illegal in mass ,i could go on and on but my head may explode :mad:people really need to take a breath and relax and mind there own business ,lets focus on the serious crimes ,ironically if you are illegally in the state you may have a drivers licence and a edt card and many other things ,they fine the legal residents for everything to finance that operation.

I do what I please but I make certain what it is that I am gsoing to walk into if you want to screw around with your doings be my guest just don't say you weren't warned. Unlcefess I come from a long line of game law breakers and that is the first & last thing you want to deal with in Maine.

I do not believe in "ANY" manner, game poachers are right! It's wrong and cruel in every sense. My thoughts are the "trivial" things. Yes, a law is a law. Making some home whiskey or wine isn't killing anything or anyone...

The town about 4 miles from me is where a 19 y/O girl was ticketed for breaking the governor's stay at home order. She was initially pulled over for a faulty break light. Than they checked her windows for too dark of tint. Than they asked her to get out of car to see if she was drinking (so much for social distancing). Brake light was working, tint was fine. So I guess they had to find something. She was cooperative and told them she was out for a drive, had to get out if house. This wasn't done by a small town officer. It was a state policeman. The DA dropped the ticket and said both officer and "violator" were in the right. Huh?
With so much going on I would think resources could be better utilized elsewhere.
I'm not knocking law enforcement, just the power grab that is going on.

As far as must haves for next time... one could always use more ammo to the stash. Mostly to sell to those who are panicking. I'll do more canning this year. But other than that nothing jumps out to me. Besides, like the song says, " a country boy can survive.":D
