Some nice stacks Allan! Looks like a prime drying spot. Hard to tell but what is the wood stacked on?
That's a lot of nice looking splits...!! Or should I say that looks like a ton of work. Thanks fo sharing the pics.. What a view you have! Feels good to have the inventory growing?
Its stacked directly on the ground ,in November /December it goes into the woodshed. Got me thinking that maybe it will go on pallets nextime.
Yes I start taking wood over there on Wednesday but I will not be going into the house so no cookies !
I've stacked wood right on the ground many times but we can get away with it easy here on the yellow sand. Still, overall it is better to get it a bit off the ground and that is why I stack on logs or just cut some saplings to stack on. It is amazing how long the saplings will last too. I often use soft maple and that can go punky fast on the ground. Yet I can get 6-10 years of using them under a stack of firewood. Also, stacking on logs means I don't have to deal with digging some of the wood out of the ground come spring after the frost has gone out.
Looking good for the future campinspecter . I like the yesterday pic, with the new tan wood in the foreground, and the grey well seasoned(no, not him) wood in the background behind the chain link fence. It feels good getting it done doesn't it.
