Not much, but there’s more in that pile if I can get it before someone else does. Need to pack a saw though. Hoping the wind brought some gifts out back. Anybody else getting some, so to speak?
I hope you're able to get more of it, if not all of it. No scrounging here.....yet. Given my current surplus, I'd take on more wood only if easy to get, and good quality.
Still quite windy here. I'm not going in the woods to look but see nothing (new) from the perimeter. I've got panels blown out of the greenhouse. Always something.
tree top down on wires on neighboring street might be the one the made our power go out after i got home at 430. Cops and power co there ready to start but wind and rain still fierce. Ill check tomorrow. Also snapped off dead chestnut oak hung up on side of our driveway. Have to check with landlord on that. Nice little get M2theB
I've got a dead oak limb turned Widowmaker. About 20' hung up almost vertical with butt on ground. Maybe I'll scrounge the hood tomorrow.
Any chance of getting a rope on it, and pull it down? I've used the poles of my roof rake to get ropes up on limbs.
2 BL leaning in my woods, plus a barkless tree down. Not sure what it is. Another BL took a maple out down the road. Utility company cut it to get it off the road. Hoping the neighbor doesn't want it. I saw a bunch of trees down. Most less in ideal places to get to.
We didn’t see the wind as expected. I am buried with logs and rounds though, so I should not complain.
I did take a hike out back but not too far. It’s still very wet in the low lands. Found a spot with a couple hovering dead oaks and a smaller ash. Nothing new from the storm. They kick solid. I’ll put a saw in and see what they’re like. Hat thrown in for scale
It’s close, but it’ll be hand carry for a bit. Surrounded by those rocks you can see in the picture. And those are blowdown from a previous event. Root balls still have plenty of dirt in the. And yes, our property. We’re lucky in that respect.
Oak and Ash, mostly still off the ground Quick notch to check this oak I cut all the way through this one before I decided my time would be better spent checking the other two and then cutting some trail. All three in this shot Yup, they’re good!
