A. Make cartridge holders out of a used cake mix box. B. Stipple your AR mags with a hot soldering iron. C. Even consider doing the same thing to a 40rd mag!
It is good time to get some of those never gotten to projects done. We have gotten a lot done around here.
Cabin fever set in this morning with all this snow and ice we've been getting. Tinkered out in the shop today. But tools away, burnt some uglies and shorts and built a holder for spray paint, bee spray and extra gas and oil. The red can is for gas and the orange one is for oil, just enough for one refill. I usually take 2 saws with me when cutting and rarely need to refuel.
It's gettin bad here, i'm cutting wood and splitting it, that i've already cut and split before!! I'm also trimming down to ''wife'' sized lengths, going to have foot surgery this coming week. I split so much kindling it caused my right forearm to swell , no kidding!! First time that's ever happened. lolits still a little tender in the elbow area but, not that bad. its not on the elbow as such its in the meaty portion of the elbow on the underside of my right forearm. Its a lot better than it was earlier this week. Probably over worked the tendon a little.
I'm getting my list of things I need to do but don't really want to, trimmed way down. Some of the tasks that have been on it have been there for years.
We are having our fifth day of rain here. The ground has all turned into slippery mud coated with wet leaves making it darned near impossible to do anything involving carrying wood. All four saws are ridiculously sharp and clean. All my tools have been organized and put away as well. So I've been wandering around the property looking for standing dead trees and marking their location with a GPS. I then load those locations onto a topographical map and look for the groupings and try and figure out the optimal locations for the wood trails to drag them back home.
Thank you i appreciate the thought. I did get a covid test yesterday and they called this morning to let me know it was negative. That was good news, BUT, i've been self quarantining myself for the pat 12 or so days!! You can only take the dog out so many times and clean the stove out, and do little odd jobs around the place, but, it is time to vacuum the carpet, so that's a plus, lol. I even hung a set of curtanas for the wife the other day, with no problems, that's a real FIRST 2 more days and a ''wake up'' for my surgery
I had bunion surgery a few years ago and if it wasn't for all the help of my husband it would have been a tough experience. So I was pampered through the recovery process. Make sure you do what the doctor and your wife tell you no matter how boring. Do you want my sock knitting pattern that I almost have memorized because of the many socks I knitted during recovery?
My dad was in the hospital for 18 days due to Covid complications. He learned to text on his flip phone because he was so bored. He can't stand daytime/ primetime TV so he didn't watch it. I get daily texts from him now. Usually they're the length of a fortune cookie message.
Oh, i'll do what the Dr say's for sure, NO weight bearing on the foot for 6wks!! THAT's gonna be a tough one. That is, if they adjust my heel, but, cutting it off and reattaching it via 2 long screws. Man i hope they don't do that. Now my wife telling me what to do, ah, i won't have much of a choice. But, the close quarters, being bored, i don't know how good this is going to work out, time will tell. They did say i can drive, been there done that, drove with my left foot, laid my leg on the seat. There's a good story that goes with that experience.
