A little more done on the new trail this morning. It is really coming along nicely. Then went to the store and grabbed some stuff the other family members needed.

36 hours later they have no clue where the problem is in the electrical grid here. Talked to a power worker he said they were still trying to find it. Whatever it is it’s a big one. Checking every single line and every transformer for an interruption. Good thing gas is cheaper.

Nursing a neck issue, needed an indoor project. Organized my spices. Cut some unused pieces of wire shelving to fit in the bottom of an unused kitchen drawer, works pretty good, but they dont all fit.

I bought this generator because we needed to extend power 1/4 mile to reach our property and we needed it to build. Bought a good one and have never had any issues. Been considering an on demand. $4000 sounds like a lot but my opinion it’s worth it. Have $1500 into the one we have.

That’s what I have been pondering over. We have propane cook stove and she wants a fireplace so it just makes sense.

Yeah, up till now we've just dealt with it, not too big of a deal, but with my wife trying to teach, and my daughter finishing up college courses for the year from home kinda made it a bigger deal.

Yup. Wife working from home, luckily she didn’t have anything needing to be done Friday. Daughter is doing classes online. Med Bio is kinda hands on for a lot of the labs, online she says is a joke. She’s ready for August to get here to be back to campus.

Finally got power back. Has been flickering some so not overly confident. Funny as soon as power came back, so did internet.

Today I hauled the elm to the split pile. 2 nice cartloads. The wife and I picked up 2 crabapple trees for out front and put them in the ground. "Indian summer" and "Prairie fire."

Put the organic fert on the lawn. Pruned a mock orange out front with the MS170. Lots of old dead wood in it. It is now half the density, but it needed it. Pruned up some other shrubs around the place.

I moved the bluebird box to an open area next to the swamp. We had two males looking around, but passed the box in the old location. I went to move a chickadee box to the woods, but when I walked up to it, it was rank. I took it down, opened it up and evicted a mouse. It made a nest about 5 inches deep and soaked in mouse urine at the bottom. There were maggots in the bottom too. Filthy little rodent, and my nice nest box goes to the burn pile.:headbang:

Coyotes were howling at 3am across the street this morning and busted up my nice sleep. I went out this afternoon and started to organize stuff in the barn, but gave up as I was pretty beat.

I've noticed not many squirrels and chipmunks around. I think they have other things on their minds right now.
