@ woodwidow has been saying that I've been going out for firewood! It really did happen and here's the proof!

One more load to come next week.
The rows are 15 feet long and the firewood is 22 inches long.

Being in the woods with wind I never liked. Be careful if you go out. The wind downstate has been 25-30 with gusts to 45 overnight and it’s still blowing in gusts.

Yeah, dropping branches let alone trees possibly falling is scary.

I went out and got 5 loads a couple of weeks ago. I find the first three days tough but these 5 loads actually went fairly easy. I was thinking of going out and getting that sixth load today, but Woodwidow said "one a day is all you're allowed!"

I need to get this trail done while the leaves are not on the brush and trees. We can see the stumps and rocks now. Think I can do it? I was planning on going slow a little at a time and getting it done by end of summer. Ha! Some vacation time. COVID-19 keeping everyone home. My son and I will be half way through it soon. I’m out here now. Talk about bustin azz. Getting tired though so the chainsaw is put away for the day. The wind is not too bad. Time to pick up a bunch of larger chit I cut up and get it off the trail then come back with the tractor and cutter to tackle this brush. Talk about a workout. My son and I scouted the rest of it out. There are some large sections where the loggers have been through. I think I can weave between the stumps and cut a lot of the saplings that have grown up through there. They are 5-7 ft tall already. But that will save a bunch of time.

This was early this AM Started yesterday mid morning and is still snowing. April 10th. It is common to have April snow, but not normal to have this much snow. I'm thinking that by Monday most of it will be melted.

I hope the clean up goes well. Spring snow is certainly not fun. Take care.

Some nice work going on in this thread. Trail work, putting up wood. All good to be outside.

After work I went out back in the rain and cut up a dead standing elm that part of it fell over onto a trail. The MS170 was all I needed. It still is a little balky on full throttle, but did the job. Nice little pile for an hours work. It sounded like bowling pins tossing them to the pile.

This will be a weekend's worth of wood this winter. I'll grab more of the top and the small stuff can go to the burn pile. A good start to the weekend.

Nice looking work. It appears to me firewood gnomes are coming at night and adding to the stacks. No people have been sighted.
