    the end cuts look like hickory but the bark is reminiscent of honey locust??? which ive never cut but have seen pics of on here. Were there any thorns on it MO. Wood ? Sometimes seen on honey locust.
    Possibly elm???

    The picture was sent to me. My brother in law cut it up for a friend and said it was free. He said it was elm but the pic looked similar to sweet gum I had in the past.

    The wood itself resembles elm but not the bark. But there are some type of elm that we don't have and I'm not familiar with.
