I highly dislike folks driving real slow down the road, unless there's a lot of snow or ice.
If I'm outside, I'll give 'em a wave....just to let 'em know I'm payin' attention.

Agreed! We put up a cell phone antenna years ago and all the fishermen used to stop right infront of our driveway to borrow the signal. Creeped me out a bit. Now others have antennas so much less stopping infront of our house. Still don't need strangers parked .....

Did some yard cleanup after work was done for the day. Put some of the sticks and pine needles in the fire pit and lit it off.

Didn’t give it a second thought at the time. Saw one of the other threads about a burn ban in Ontario. Figured I should check to see what MI had going on. Whoops. No outdoor burning allowed here. In my defense, the fire was inside a steel fire ring about 30’ from the edge of the water with the wind blowing the smoke over the lake. Maybe there is a clause for being smart about it. Not like I torched a slash pile in the woods.

Had to see what gas prices are around here. I filled the truck up a couple weeks back. As usual, some of the highest gas prices in lower peninsula are in Rogers City - $1.79 is the cheapest around here according to Gas Buddy. And that’s still the cheapest I’ve ever seen it around here.

Just grab some hot dogs and roasting sticks. Outside fires would be OK for cooking in years past.

Pretty sure if your fire is in a burn barrel and there's almost zero chance of sparking a wildfire you are not a deplorable.

Too many wildfires are started by debris burning in piles and that's what they don't want to have to deal with right now.

Wish I could hoard some of that cheap gas.

    Still $2.29 a gallon here.

Was $0.89 per gallon in one neighborhood in Cleveland over the weekend...caused major lines so the city made them raise it to $1.25/gall so the traffic would subside/resume social distancing/keep the peace!

rottiman our gas price got down to $1.169 litre. Farther down the island it has been reported at $.99 litre. How is the price doing for you?

We were down to .699 until the "carbon tax increase" came into play two days ago. I think it is sitting around .739 now. Diesel was 1.01.9 yesterday. Got a propane delivery 2 days ago and it was .599

Where we usually gas up the price is 1.699 but 3 miles from there we found it at 1.539. We're good with that.

Like yooperdave and papadave we are beginning to notice some strange vehicles driving very slow as they go past. Yesterday I was able to get a license number and also gave that to some neighbors along with a description of the vehicle. I was told by neighbors that this week there has been lots of that going on. Most we won't notice as we are on a dead end road and even with that we are over 100 yards from the road and in the woods.
