Smartest kid in 6th grade three years in a row! Only reason why he didn't advance to the 7th grade is he didn't want to pass up his Dad!
anymore, I figure the market will screw me on prices more than the help will give me the wrong change. I quit going to my favorite grocery store of 25 years when they started all this marketing crap to boost sales. I'm not buying 10 for 10 so the store can boost the average check! AND, i'm not paying 10 for 10 at an end cap when i can walk down the isle and get a four-pack of my cambells tomato soup for 79cents per can... believe me! 10 for 10 "sales" ARE FOR THEM.. NOT YOU!
Most of the 10 for 10 sales here do not require purchasing more than one. For whatever reason(s) marketing studies have found 10 for 10 sounds like a better price than $1 each. Sometimes 2 fors and 3 fors require the purchase of the 2 or 3 but I've never seen more than that. BJ's often wraps 2fors and 3 fors together in a bundle and you can't buy in smaller quantities. Like Costco and Sams Club their quantity purchases are bulk buys not for retired or single peoples / tiny families.
I'll never forget even over 30 years ago when my wife was hiring young girls to work in the bakery, she did not find any who knew how to make change if the cash register did not work. Wow! Schools used to teach that way back in grade school. Actually it was a great way to teach arithmetic.
correct, I agree, it's a marketing tool game... but in one instance there was a (quit deceiving) deal on (small) canned creamed corn. 39 cents (iirc) per can. must buy 7....ok...we use lots of it, so I'm in... there was a skid just sitting there in the isle. So we just grab a full box (of 12). (and i mention we'll need to keep an eye on the register at checkout) at the register it rings up as a 7 for 39 cents each...and 5 at $1.00 per can... yes you had to buy 7!........or quantities of 7..... we were watching as they rang up to see if this was a "let's see if they catch this" game sad, it was our favorite store. now, when you go there at a busy time, there are only a few customers in the whole store. Their pharmacy just closed. The rest of the store probably isn't far behind.
