It is great working with someone else , 90 % of the time I work solo but had the pleasure of working with another member here a couple weeks ago and it was a blast. A ton of hard work but very productive and a great time as a team. Looking forward to doing it again
buzz-saw I read that a post. You guys cut some good size wood. Always better to team up and have fun. I work with my dad and brother almost every weekend in the summer to do firewood. Can't wait to get back there this weekend to try out a skid steer splitter that we are looking to purchase. It will take a lot of work out of splitting the big maple rounds. I will post some pics.
I’m OAKley Dokley big brother. This is part 2 of the old maple job. We took down 8 Hard Maples tree along the road. Didn’t know if they were worth cutting up. Since they were so close to the house I thought it would be a waste if I dumped them over the bank. My brother talked me into buying a spitter for our skid steer to save our back. These big rounds are heavy! Good investment! Glad to join your club.
Welcome to the FHC Little Beech Great to have you on board. Those are some serious rounds. Not having equipment, they wouldve killed me.
We were having issues with the dolmar cupping. We need to do spend some time and do some maintenance on the saws. We had 3 out there and had a problem with each one. What a pain when you cut want to get to processing. Slow going splitting up the big stuff.
Welcome to the FHC Little Beech I have siblings that sometimes refer to me as A variant of your screen name
Welcome to FHC. You'll like it here. We like dogs, and beer and lots of pics A lot of knowledge people here who are willing to share.
Welcome Little Beech ! You got "the machine" there! Some great firewood and sounds like you have good, steady partner!
Welcome OAKley Dokley & Little Beech! Looks like you're getting some other benefits from those maple trees. Looks like some sap lines running in the background. How was your sugar season?
Thank you to everyone for welcoming me. It was an OK syrup year. Made about 55 gallons with my neighbors.
