I haven't done anything with them yet. My plan is to wash them out with my pressure washer and cut them diagonally in half and use for "roofs" for the totes/cages. You could also tell the seller you are not interested in the bladders, only the cages.

I got four more totes filled. Two yesterday, and two today. 16 total so far. 4 to go, hopefully I can make my March 1 goal date. I brought about 3/4 cord of logs up from the back of the property.

I filled two more totes today and cut and washed all the bladders I’m using for the roofs. I think I’m doing pretty decent. 18 filled since I got them 3 weeks ago, and a lot of the wood was trees I had to cut down, de branch and buck. Two more and I’m ready for a break.

YES!!! Tote/cage #20 was filled ending at 8:30 this morning. Officially done and made my “by March 1st” goal. Not all of the totes are near each other, so getting a group photo wasn’t really feasible at this point. As soon as the ground thaws I plan to level the area they will be staying and placing some 4x4 pt runners down to keep the totes off the ground so they get better air circulation, don’t rot out, and don’t freeze to the ground.

Pretty much every free minute I had meant splitting wood. In a way the totes make it easier, because one tote isn’t a ton of wood and is an easy goal for the couple hours you may have available on a given day. Couple totes here, couple there start to add up. My next “goal” will be cleaning up the woods and extending my trail system which will yield quite a bit of log length that I’ll cut to 10’ lengths and pile up.

I was finally able to get all the filled up totes in one area on runners.

I also cleared enough area to start two 10' log piles. One for hardwood, and one for pine, also on runners.

Yes sir, all twenty of the ones I purchased in early February are in the pic. I actually wish I had a half dozen more. With all the Corona stuff going on, I wonder if they are even open right now.

These last two pictures were taken during the bushfires earlier this year.
The pinkish hue is from the smoke plume of the Kangaroo island fire!

Impressive. I just took an inventory of my split wood. I have the twenty totes, plus another 9 full cords of 100 percent Red Oak, and another cord or so of misc shorts, and other hardwoods. All told I have around 18 full cords. This is about the most I’ve had put up at one time. I’m pretty proud, considering I work a full time job an hour from home and only do wood on weekends and occasionally after work. I do it 95 percent by myself. I’m glad to be finally ahead. Now I just plan to do 7-8 cords a year to keep up. Pretty soon it’ll be mowing season.
