This was my first time back in since the last wind event, most of my time was spent clearing branches from the trails.

Before I headed back in we put two loads of hardwood in, pic 0087 (11 this morning).

Picture 0088,0090 is a damaged ash in what we call the bowl, pic 0091 & 0092 is a small damaged beech up in the bowl and the last two pics are coming out of the bowl.

You keep such a beautiful forest. I've watched you maintain it over the past 12 years buddy!

I didn't get it yet but thanks Woodsnwoods , pretty dang quiet up here for this time of year. My plans for firewood this spring are for about 10-12 face, that should keep us just over three years ahead.

I see your firewood inventory is coming along pretty good.

Thanks Well Seasoned but we have more tree damage compared to what I put up, usually it's the Hemlocks that get hit hard.

Same here buZZsaw BRAD , the ash will be some nice firewood but the beech in the picture might be rotten.

For sure I really like your place. The rolling hills and the brook really make it like a park.

This was a wind damaged ash up in the bowl, all the rounds are back home and ready for splitting.

Pic 0096 is where I cut it away from the stump, 0097 is the first section I cut that rolled down the hill, 0098 ended up being 0099 after I pulled it down the hill and the rest are the two loads I brought home.

Thanks Well Seasoned , we'll add this to the inventory.

buZZsaw BRAD , not much of the wind damaged trees that come down are on flatland but then again they call this area the foothills.

I'll be starting up the felling of a bunch of Ash on the backhill, that will give the old knees a workout.

It's a start Loon, are the cases still climbing in your area? We're at four for our county.

I'm hoping I can get the splitter out and split the ash and sugar maple tomorrow, I'll throw some stacking in there too.

Hopefully this week I can start felling more ash on the backhill behind the house. Last year I started with some of the smaller ash but this year it will be some of our bigger ash.

I would like 8 - 10 face cord this spring, I have two face stacked in the area I want filled which the 8-10 face will do, that will leave one area open that will hold 14 face.

We have a total of 23, 5 of those were on Potsdam College (State School) I think 4 of the college kids a quarantined on campus and the 5th is at is parents house, the rest in our county are at home quarantined.
