So far...... Bucked a few more rounds of white and red oak before the wife woke up, hauled them to the processing area where I then quartered them. I also trimmed a few trees with the pole saw leaving one to do this evening from the roof, getting too close to the chimney. After hauling out the waste branches, Dawn started bundling up the kindlin and I quartered rounds. I'm going to eat a lunch and split everything afterwards.
Looking good, I had to quit working in wood long enough to go to grocery store with girlfriend, she wanted me to go with her. Women, go figure. Lol... I will post some pics later as well.
Finished for the day. Kindlin in the shed until fall, when we move it onto the deck and fill the shed with this season's wood, which gets us through 1/2 the season until restocking. Split everything available. Put together a quick table with a ramp so the wife didn't have to bend every time to pickup splits. Now I need to do a lot of bucking and get a pile of splits to replace what will be moved in the fall.
That's a lot of kindling. Is that a full tears supply. ? Nice bundles, looks kinda like the expensive "Quick store" wood bundles. More oak, never ends , lucky you !
The skids are 24ft long x 5 1/4' wide x 6' high. The last picture is scheduled for this year ( a dipped into it during the coldest part of the previous winter since it is all pin oak) Each skid section is 3 cords, all oak from here on out, and then I have 1.5 cords in different spots of mixed HW for SS. Being on a 3 year plan, I'll empty a skid section, move it closer to the house and in the shed, and replace the empty section with 3 cords split and piled at the processing area.I am currently behind schedule, I should have another 3 cords done by now, but.... life got in the way. My goal is to buck throughout the week here and there after work and split for a bit during weekends. We css around a cord today roughly. Now wife wants clothes.
I had less kindlin than that last year and had leftovers. Hoarding doesn't just entail stove size splits right?
LOL I have a double row hoard of kindling / fire-pit wood. Uglies & misfits mixed in too. Wife likes it for the wind break, so now I need more "fir pit wood "
