In other tire news, my rear one is flat thanks to a screw. 35miles from home, had my wife pick me up and drove back with the trailer to pick it up. Arg I hate tubes too.
Are those the pirelli Corsa Rosso II? How is the cold grip? That's my only reservation on those. The metzeler m7rr is amazing in the cold and wet, even dirty streets, and honestly, without taking them on the track yet, I see zero loss of grip anywhere that you can run street wise, and really the grip is amazing, on not so great surfaces. Now they've created the successor to the m7rr, the m9rr. Since pirelli and metzeler are owned my the same company, I kind of expect similar tires between the pirelli and the metzeler. The Rosso Corsa II came out in 2018, and seeing that the tech on tires changes every year, I'd expect that the m9rr might be a better tire, especially when it gets colder. Now might the Rosso Corso 2 be a better track bike tire for advanced riders? There's always vavtrade off, otherwise the parent company wouldn't make 2 exactly the same tires with different names on them. I do know that the Rosso Corsa 2s tip in very aggressively, and the metzeler m7rr is more progressive on its tip in. The new m9rr apparently carries on the progressive tip in. I'll wait to hear what you think. What tires did you have in the multistrada before? If pirelli, they are usually aggressive on the tip into the lean anyway.
Ordering a new one, but going to patch this and run a new tube into the summer. Rear tire is under 8 months old, front is 6 months old, have an new front too. Oh well. It will be fixed this week.
Yes RC2’s. Way too early to give you decent feedback. Both short rides I took had 48 degrees on my dash so I didn’t really push at all. I will say turn in is superb! And grip at this point is excellent. Each time I’ve gotten off the steed, the front tire is warm to the touch so it appears they are coming up to temp very quickly. When I bought the Multi, it had a Diablo Rosso Corsa on the front and a new Mich PP2ct on the rear. I loved that front tire on it. Went from them to PR4’s, which I didn’t care for at all. Then the Road5’s which I loved. I got this Pirelli rear tire for free so I bought the matching front. I’m sure they won’t last long but it should be fun while they are on! More feedback to come later.
Sounds good, I'll wait to hear what you think. Now I did hear that the Rosso Corsa 2 had vastly improved tread wear as opposed to the version it replaced. I just love how a new set of tires really transforms a bike.
Who in their right mind would throw $600 into a $3000 scooter? I do! Moriwaki Megaphone, Cheeky Seats padded seat cover, and an Asahi wind screen. Hit 63F here today was nice to scoot about.
Probably sounds better than my 1500 'Wing...it sounds very "Hoover-ish"...what's up with Honda making their stuff sound like household appliances?!
Small upgrades/additions that I just finished up. Heated grips, USB port and Taskform cellphone mount.
Bike was delivered this afternoon from storage. This was a no contact, no sign, stay at least 6 feet away transaction as mandated by the dealership (not complaining). Had 10" of snow last night so was worried the driveway would still be slick / have icey spots. But, it melted off real nice (after snow blowing of course). It is going to have to get used to different company than the Harleys it has been hanging out with since about Thanksgiving Not expecting any riding weather soon. But the dealership was urging everyone who was storing their bikes to get them home soon just in case they have to shut down for a while.
