Spent a good majority of my weekend cutting and splitting this maple I dropped last weekend. Weather was in the 30's and sunny, great for muscling this big stuff around. This is my property behind my house which is mainly sand so its high and dry. I have a few more I wanna take down before the leaves come out. It was nice to being out all weekend and not having to hear about any of the crud that's going around. I'm fortunate enough to have a job that is essential to this country and I still get to go to work everyday. It gets a little daunting hearing about this day in and out. Nothing some Firewood therapy cant solve!

Well sort of. I am in the process of building an altered now after selling my dragster ;( front engine ) no rear engine car for me !. It was a fun car but was an older car that needed to be retired after a lot of years and a long history going way back to the old Connecticut Dragway days. The goal with the new car when done is to get into the sixes. Should be the ultimate carnival ride. My biggest problem is lack of time to get it done. Hope to be up and running late summer this year , I was hoping to be done late last year and getting itchy to get back down the track. I work part time at a buddies race shop building engines and chassis fabrication so it's one of those examples that I always have time to work on someone else's stuff and not my own or going to the track to help others with their cars. Still good I guess I just love drag racing and the track no matter what I am doing. Wish I was that close to the track ,it's a little over two hours for us to get to the Valley which is closest.
That's awesome! I've always had a thing for altered's and FED's. In the front is the only way! I used to help a friend of mine at the track with his '67 Woody Gilmore chassis FED powered by a blown 392 called the "Brewmaster". The car had a ton of history and had been updated throughout the years. He stopped running the car a few years back due to finances and the original owner of the car who was a nitro freak and helped out a lot had passed away. I've always wanted to race the car but being 6' I couldn't fit it. Maybe someday I will come across a project FED to build. I race my '64 Galaxie now which is street driven and runs low 11's. I'm also in the process of building a 4 speed Model A in the hopes of going low 9's high 8's.
Awesome I am hooked on nostalgia race cars as well and you are 100% correct ; the engine needs to cross the stripe before I do or it just isn't right.
