Been knocking out projects lately since I've been at home more. Mower and tiller are ready to go. Shop is cleaner than it's been in 10 years. Installed motion sensing switches in the basement since the kids never turn off the lights....had to rewire a bunch of stuff to make that work. Got a load of scrap hauled in today.

I worked on my brush pile from the fir tree that fell over this winter. I can't just light up the pile. I have to put pieces into the burn barrel. It takes a lot more time and effort but I don't have a choice. I split a few rounds of ash and silver maple with the maul. That's a lot more work too, vs my hydraulic solution.

I'll wait to do the rest of my rounds until I bring the splitter over.

I also started up my garden tractor. I aired up the rear tires, and topped off the oil. It started right up, which was nice.

I wanted to see how much the tractor would "sink" into the lawn. I'll be taking the one dead ash next to the driveway down pretty soon, maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky. I'll be waiting for my buddy to help. One of us cutting the tree, the other running the tractor to give it a pull into the field.

I also mixed up a gallon of saw gas. Lucas semi synthetic this time as the fleet farm didn't have the amsoil sabre I like. The Lucas is good, it just doesn't smell nice like the sabre.

Today is day 9 of minimal excursions beyond my property lines. I was up at 5am. By 10 I had already dine all the laundry, dishes, reorganized the linen closet, and I was climbing the walls to get out of the house.

I ended up tearing out a quarter of the workshop area and putting up a shelf for food storage. Finally got rid of the damm treadmill that we HAD to take when offered with the house.

Then it had warmed up enough to do some firewood work. Split 90% ofnthe remaining ash, then started stacking it. I'll finish that up tomorrow. I'm trying to pace myself so I have things to do outside while stuck at home.

I've heard my wife complain too many times that she can't find spices in the cupboard. They are all on one shelf and on the same level. If I were to make tiered shelves, then they would be easier to see. Hmm I'll need to look online for some ideas. That would earn me some mega brownie points.

Good work on getting the ash split! How about foraging around in the woods in back for fallen dead oak?

I still have the trunk of the oak I pulled a cord out of the top of last year left.

I need to process before bringing any more in though. Once the ash is stacked, I need to move the remainder of next years oak out of the woods. Then I'm going to split all the oak we got, as well as the half cord from down the street and put that where next years was. Once that's done, I'll see where I'm at. I don't have enough room to keep bringing in the oak. Trying to keep it to two cords a year, and a cord or so of shoulder wood.

Interesting. That's the first time I've heard of someone saying you need to replace the cam. Everyone else just programs the computer and calls it a day.
