One bare spot is on a south facing hillside covered with pine trees; not much for snow load there to begin with.

The other bare spot is along the asphalt driveway.

………….but, all of them went away overnight with the 6"+ that we got!

I have to admit it rides a lot nicer that the XLT I tested. Happy with it so far but the test will be when it goes into the woods for some firewood.

Yep. Number one selling truck for how many years now? But, that encompasses their whole line of f-body trucks...150, 250, 350, so on and so forth.

In the U.P., Chevy pickups actually outsell ford pickups as there are more registered chevys than fords. Something I never knew.

As far as the premium products go...…. personal opinion again I guess.

The XLT F-150 I considered was equipped with options just a little bit better than the Silverado LT. Heated rear view mirrors and power sliding rear window and trailer assist back up would have been nice but not for $1400 more, IMO. Both trucks are V8 with locking axles and of course 4WD. Chevy has a bench seat in front where as ford does not. Both are extended cabs but with the chevy, as soon as I am stopped, whoever is seated in the extended cab can open their door and exit; the ford.....well, you have to wait until someone in the front opens their door.

Mileage was same down to 50 miles difference between the two; both had certified warranty.

Ford needed tires by end of the year, chevy had new tires and 2 oil/filter rotation maintenance check ups added at no cost.

I did talk to both dealers and made them aware of the other truck I was considering but only chevy came down to below market value.

With the savings in purchase price and taxes, I'll have the insurance paid for the truck and the wrangler for almost 2 years.

Holy crap! I posted these replies as I came along and read them in order....didn't think I'd start another truck war!

Looking back on the purchase now, I should've asked the dealership if they could throw in a chainsaw along with the truck. But then. it probably would've been one of those POS stihls…..:smoke:

Mwalsh9152 I see the guy that bought the green truck from time to time and he absolutely is in love with it! I sold it at the right time as it was a 2005 and there is only so much you can do to save a truck from road cancer up here. In a couple years, there'll be less truck in his yard.

If they had given you a Stihl you wouldn’t have to worry about cutting wood if the truck actually got you there. Chances of either starting is rather astronomical though.
