Be safe. I just looked at that bridge on Maps. I was once hauling a junk truck on our equipment trailer, started down a decent hill, looked in my rearview mirror, I could see the hood on the truck wobbling from side to side a little, could feel it getting worse...thank GOD for training and trailer brakes. Used just themand let it slow the truck down, helped straighten it out.

I personally don’t know but woods is a different setup than weight if your customizing a truck. Wouldn’t want to drive my Ram 2500 through the woods :) Hard on the spine and the wheels are prone to stay airborne over terrain. No flex in the system. I’ve had to hit 4wd in a parking lot trying to back up a steep hill crossways. One rear tire just stayed in the air and spun. That truck just doesn’t bend ;)
Could be there’s no difference between your model and ones without the off road sticker. You’d have to look into that. Even if they’re all the same there’s usually aftermarket things you can do. Like sway bars and airbags/helper springs if your so inclined.

That’s exactly what I did for these loads. The weight on the tongue might have been a bit much but it allowed me to slow down the truck without using additional brake power. The inertia of the truck was much easier to slow down as weight was distributed more evenly in the bed and trailer so once I had my foot off the gas, it acted as it’s own brakes. Plus makes it a lot easier just keeping it below 60 mph anyways. Muuuuch Less sudden braking which is often the kind of traffic I run into.

I’ve been thinking about getting a dump trailer and some aren’t too pricey at about 4-5500 depending on conditions and who is selling it. But then I’m likely to need to switch out the mule too...
you know, to make these sorta pickups happen again and again..

You never see a nismo decal on a Nissan around here. I had to look that up quick to see if it was a TRD equivalent.

Interesting. Funny thing about the truck is I did a search for the CarFax, it revealed to me that the truck never left the State of Washington, suppose they limit the amount of a certain trim, to locations? I know about others with different trims like Pro-Am, etc. and depending on the geography of the state it’s sold in? I see TRD’s all the time on those trucks. Honestly I Wanted one but the Nissan had the budget, side by side Nissan compared to Toyota, the yota has less space inside, but generally they were built in the same capacity, for some off roading and whatnot. Not exactly a compact guy when the tags for my shirts say XL...so I had the $ for the Nissan as the dealers wouldn’t budge a damm inch on their Tacomas...

I had a 2003 frontier before this one and it treated me well so I naturally got this one thinking the same sort of treatment and so far so good...

No. A truck like a Raptor is actually designed this way. They can't tow as much because the suspension is tuned for bump compliance, not weight handling of payload or tow capacity. Most off road packages, however, don't reduce towing/ payload capacity. About the only thing that might help would be air bag suspension for the rear axle.

Those nismo frontiers were available anywhere. Then they made pro4x models... Bilstein shocks, different beefier swaybars, rear diff lock, and skid plates.

You can get a small dump trailer, but one that will haul much needs a bigger truck, wonder how I know...:whistle:...had to put air bags on the F-150. Then I still overload it...:picard::picard:... IMG_20190603_131314500_HDR.jpg IMG_20190604_120649015.jpg

Maybe it’s just the photo but your axles seem to be set far back increasing tongue weight. 12 footer?

Yes sir, it's a 12'. The axles are far back, has lower deck height.

    That’s why there’s bumpstops
Once you hit them it firms things right.

I thought just to bring this load to a close nearly that since work is off I’ve been catching up on projects big time. Weather has been amazing. I just chip away at this oak and it blocked up really nice. Even the old girl is out there watching me. Definitely more than a cord. Just some of this stuff isn’t consistent so I’m saving the garbage for bbq and kindling. Chunkies for you-know-what’s. The better splits in the pile. ... 3AF1B7F8-F6B1-4AFB-B45D-B79EA09CDDF8.jpeg FCA0C1EA-2AE2-4FFC-A150-8FF2F5A40953.jpeg 5AF0F4E1-0093-4ED0-9E4C-2CCBB963BB36.jpeg 1FB2F1C9-34A6-41D6-AE76-EF76F24063BD.jpeg 99D57584-901C-4384-9751-C77F9D5BC031.jpeg 365C0A70-D742-413B-847A-A8E2A93EB13E.jpeg

Thank you! Will have some other stacks to redo today but I’m getting the better impression that having the time to be a bit more focused instead of “volume splitting” the splits are much more uniform. Finally understand how cribbing needs practice.

Hey FatBoy85 , Midwinter loads more wood than that into her SUV.  Just bustin ya buddy. What I do on my f-150's is put LT tires on, 10 ply sidewalls and and they can go to a much higher psi. Holding the truck nice and firm on those tires, instead of driving home on 4 tires that feel like squashed sneakers with that big score we all want. Nice job on that haul, I know why you only took half the pile. You just want another day of playing with wood in your truck. Smart guy!:stacker::rofl: :rofl:

Love the truck but I do wonder if more trucks are set for more loads. This is midrange for sure!! Pulls a decent load I’ll give ya that. If I tried pulling this with my old Ford ranger 86, I’d be lucky yo make it move 50 feet.
