Did I C a post that you might get 14 inches of the white stuff? We won't have any fire tonight (still 70 in here) and tomorrow we might be in the 60's with a big drop in temps tomorrow night.
That 14" was forecasted from a remote TV station. (Wait a minute, they're all remote from here!) The local radio said 8". Its that time of year where forecasts must be more difficult. We are just sitting here and waiting to see what happens. Who knows? If power goes out from wind and heavy snow, I have enough dry wood for the kicker stove in the basement!
Looks like right around 3" piled up on the deck railing right now. Still snowing but not as heavy as it was an hour ago. No where near 14". Dang the good luck!
40 and foggy here now, supposed to go up to 53 before the big wind hits this afternoon and it slams down to the single digits tonight and below freezing all week end. NC-30 loaded and ready to fire off later.
All we got last night after it stopped raining was a good dusting of snow. Windy and cool so we have a fire going this morning.
We have a severe thunderstorm warning, I expect we'll lose power. National Weather Service Watch Warning Advisory Summary
We had some pretty good winds but the worst stayed south of us, I can see from my recliner we lost a small maple in the back, it broke off where it was rotting.
This is just outside my old hometown, I heard from Backwoods Savage that yooperdave 's first date with 99 was at place like this but in a different state. Drive-in marquee blown over in Massena | NorthCountryNow
Winds ROARING here for about an hour now increasing as time passes. We're in for a long night. (The huge trees scare the chit outta us)
Yes sir! And the other few..... Just took a decent branch off the pole barn. Snow still 4 foot pile at the rear, so easy to reach. Be safe
walt did you lose power from the big rain? The creek over its banks? I hope Fredericktown is doing OK!
Didn't lose power, creek was high but not near the cabin. Spit snow and stayed in the thirties all day. I cut and split behind the shop to add to the donation pile. Robin baked bread today and we made a big pot of sausage potato soup. I have saw gas and splitter gas so I am planning on being a hermit for a couple of weeks.
Sounds cozy! I have a nice backlog of rounds as well. Glad to hear you and Robin are fine, and staying close to home.
