Thanks Dakota Hoarder for the kind words. :p

Came from everyone's favorite online auction site , as always with buying there it is always a crap shoot and this time I won.

It will eventually get paired up with this. mill.jpg

Waiting for the EZ rails to go with it and need to look into getting a couple ripping chains. However Corona virus might slow down the chains ; still have to look into them but just haven't had time yet.
Rails should be here next couple days.

Thanks , That's my work shop. Actually due for a little clean-up and reorganizing. Little to no time to do so with everything going on over the past couple weeks and all the virus activity.

I appreciate you noticing. We take a lot of pride in the shop and all that we have to work with. It's a lot of work keeping up with it but the positive reactions we get in keeping up with it makes it all worth while.

What type of work do you do ? I'd like to spend more time cleaning but dang...everything is needed yesterday and (yes I know be thankful) we are pummeled with work. People are grumpy and tired.
Oh and that Wilton looks just like my Hardinge.

Supervise a student machine shop for a major university. We teach classes for the kids that have basically zero experience with working on machines. They get an introduction to basic machine skills and safe operation ( safe being a huge part of their learning experience ) and during this they make an actual working steam engine that they all take with them when class is over. Everyone enjoys it since it is a break from all their other classes that keep them behind a computer or doing book work.

The shop also supports many research projects in physics , astro- physics , engineering to name a few. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming trying to teach a bunch of Sheldons from big bang theory how to do something other than computer work. In the end all the kids are really happy to have a little change from the normal routine.

I am very fortunate to be able to do this type of thing and have so much equipment at my disposal including water jet , laser cutter , CNC machines , lathes , mills , etc.. that I can use as well.

Thanks for asking and taking notice.

If I can remember tomorrow I will get some. That's something I actually don't have any pictures of and I should.
It's going to be a crazy day tomorrow since the university is shutting us down tomorrow due to Corona so a lot of loose ends to tie up before it happens.

It's going to suck...how do they expect me to work on my own projects while they are shut-down?
Guess that means more time at job #2 building race engines. That's not a bad thing either I guess.

It will all work out but might take some time. Too many unknowns now to see far enough ahead as to when things get back to normal.

    Thanks for your interest.

I'm assuming the 661 is gonna get used on the mill set up. Those ES bars that big would put some serious shoulder muscles on you carrying it around the woods all day! A muffler mod on that beast would give it a little more oomph and let some of the heat out. I'm a big fan of muffler mods.

Nice to have access to a shop like that. I used to have access to a fab shop a few years back and I could send anything I needed through there... I sure do miss those days.

We have a fab shop as well and I work at a fab shop/engine shop as job #2 building drag race chassis's and race engines and also a good amount of fabrication equipment in my home shop. I was an engine builder by trade until I had the offer to go to work at my present job. I just can't get away from it. Something about the smell of burning rubber and race fuel that keeps me going.
I am very fortunate to have so much at my disposal and a skill set like I do to be able to do so much. Keeps me busy ( most of the time too busy ) but I wouldn't change it.

A muffler mod is not out of the question , once I am up and running. A little carb work and maybe some porting too? we'll see. If I can get exhaust out then I can shove more fuel and air in. Wouldn't be the first one.

Don’t make modding and porting sound to easy or you’ll have 1/2 the members here sending you saws to work on! I’m surprised buZZsaw BRAD hasn't talked you into working on his saws!

Nice score on the saw. :thumbs:I'm sure you'll have it modded up in no time. My only concern is how you plan to work around the wheelie bars and parachute when it deploys.:D

I did a double barrel look on my 359 husky ; being a Husky I figured that it needed the most help.:D

When I did it I actually threaded the inside of the barrels so I could install a plugs in the pipes just in case I ever needed to run it without the mod ; maybe if I was cutting on water company or state land where the spark arrestor was required. Haven't had the need arise to this point but figured it was something different.

There is a lot of theory and understanding on how things work especially on two cycle engines. There has been more than one case where I have seen people just go in and start hogging out material :dremel: and things went backwards in a hurry . Bigger is not always better so be careful.

    Shhhhhhhh………...don't tell buZZsawBrad.

Nice little upgrade from the 391, should treat you well in the big wood or milling.
