Yup - snow. Won't hang around for long.

Cooking up some corned beef and cabbage, for later.

    No snow here.

But with you on the corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight. Looking forward to it. Don't know why but this seems to be one of those meals that only comes around on St Patties day , not sure why I don't do it more often. It is one of my favorites.
Have a good day everyone !

My favorite (family friendly) St. Patrick day jokes..

A frog walks into the bank to get a loan, the tellers name I kid you not it’s Patty wack,

Frog says yeah I need a $30,000 loan because I need a vacation.
Patty whack says ok let’s start with your name?

Frog says I am Neil Jagger I am Micks kid and it’s ok because I know the bank president

Patty writes all the information down and than asks the frog about collateral.

Frog say yes and produces a miniature ivory carved white elephant.

Patty takes the collateral and says well I will be right back I need to get approval.

Patty is talking to the bank president and he says it OK Patty
BUT what he s this elephant?

for heaven’s sake : It’s a Nicknack, Patty Wack, give the frog a loan, his old man’s a Rolling Stone

Not a fan of corned beef and cabbage, and not a stitch of Irish here. I do appreciate the holiday and sadly it is pretty much deflated today.

I made shepherds pie, with scali bread:whistle:(that was pretty much all the store had.) I had Celtic fiddle music on most of the day.
    Making the best of it.:tip:

I think losing Gronk was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Thanks for that. After a stressful day it made me laugh.

Two Black Labs here. Great guys but draining at times ; although I wouldn't change it for anything

Was planning on preparing the CB I purchased on Saturday, to bring in to the engineering boys today, but then we all got sent home yesterday for a few weeks. It’ll freeze I guess. Corned beef one day soon, smoked Boston butt another.
The best engineering comes from a well fed team.

With the right spice mix and some time on the dmojer, you can turn that corned beef into pastrami. Slice it thin, thin, thin. Mmmmm

Pastrami and corned beef start off the same. Pastrami gets a pepper/spice rub and then smoked. CB gets corned and then boiled. I have made both from scratch starting with beef brisket , takes a while to do but end result is great. Much better than the pre packaged you can buy in the store however the price around Saint Patrick's day for the already made can't be beat. I always buy a couple this time of the year when it is so cheap. Just like the price of a turkey around Thanksgiving.
