Sorry, was too scared to put anything near it to compare its size to, but trust me, it was the size of a baseball! The "fishing spider" was on my boat cover, where I usually find them when I'm getting it ready to hit the lake. I had to broom him far away. Nothing worse than one of this in your boat in the middle of the lake, yes, they freak me out so much, I would and HAVE jumped overboard! Enjoy!
Did you kill that s.o.b? I didn't see any spiders today but I might have flees, when I came back in from cutting brush I saw what might have been a flee, no ticks though
I really try and be one with nature, when I swept him off of the cover, then he ran towards me, and I screamed like a girl and went phyco with the broom in self defense. I felt kinda bad, but he was going to kill me.
I'm with you. I hate spiders. They don't scare me, but the do make me nervous. I had several spider bites. They take forever to get better. Sometimes cause blisters and open sores. I now vacuum my porch ceiling to keep the spider nest out. I will squish them. Don't care if it will cause rain or not.
Classic. I'm having visions of a guy with a broom swatting at a boat....and screaming like a little girl. In my head, it's quite comical.
Watched a huge wood spider making a 6' diameter web in our old barn. Quite a thing to watch. It caught so many flies and other bugs, I always left them alone. Get in the house... shmoosh... flat spider. Dad got bit by one when he was a kid playing around in the barn... said the welt was the size of half a baseball and very painful.
Noooooo! Did ya have to post a picture? I can't believe BrianK dug this 7 month old thread back up!#?$
