WWW took kiddo to the intro class last night (they run this class twice per year), and she had a blast! I pray this excitement stays.

First time on pellet gun. Pic to be added soon.

Gun safety is always a good thing.
And if she becomes a competition shooter, so much the better.

I grew up shooting in 4H programs. Began shooting competitively at a young age and ended up on a collegiate rifle team. Great memories from starting off with a BB gun to daisy air rifles. Hope the kiddo enjoys it!

I'd be THRILLED!! WWW is great at tea parties and carnivals and all little girl stuff but also takes her hunting and shooting, and if she takes a shine to this it would be an incredible experience for both of them. He picked up a competive skeet one for almost nothing and competed in a few tourneys, I can just see him getting her on that when she gets bigger.

What years and what team? I shot mostly collegiate pistol but also entered Freestyle pistol and some small bore rifles when we went to Colorado Springs Air Force Academy. SMSU (Missouri) 2000-2004. I got to shoot 500-1000 rounds per week for free, my own dedicated pistol and some really good instructors!

My oldest granddaughter was very intelligent and had common sense, rare these days. I was teaching her practical 3 gun competition and she was ok with the handgun, sucked with the shotgun but really shined with the long gun. We did this for a couple years, she graduates and goes to college. As a freshman she didn’t shoot much when she came home or during the summer. By the time she was a sophomore they had succeeded in sucking out the majority of her grey matter and when she was home she “educated” me on how evil guns were and only law enforcement and military needed them. We don’t talk much anymore.

I see a daddy daughter date to the gun shop in your future. That is awesome!!!!!

Do whatever it takes to keep that flame alive...we need more young people in the shooting sports and pro2a in general.

we actually had shooting as a school sport on Long Island, we would carry our 22 rifles to school like the band geeks carried their instruments to school.

Imagine that, 1974-1979, no one died..............

Almost ditto here, Colo, elementary school that time period, bullets in my pocket from the day before and put them in my pencil holder in my desk, teacher asked me, then told me I could not bring them to school.
I am, I will!! This coronavirus crap is spooky chit but since she's likely out of school for 3 weeks or indefinsyly, we have an unusual opportunity to do family practicing together... He's an excellent teacher and I am an excellent cheerleader. YES bocefus78

  Me too, cherish those memories! And still remember the other players faces til this day. And instruments.

4-H rifle instructor here, my wife is archery certified. OSU Extension canceled all meetings of any kind for clubs in our county until late April. We are in the process of putting together a YouTube live stream training so we can at least make sure kids have a basic understanding of expectations, safe firearm handling and range rules. Hopefully, we can hit the range early May.

Our kids get to shoot some fun stuff...
