some burring depends a bit on whose wheel you use- kinda a trial by fire type of thing as none post or print wheel specs other than size. some 20+ years ago I had a cbn type wheel -plated. I was not particularly impressed then. time change and I am sure they are much better now- course the price still hurts at apx $90-100 a pop. They do run a lot cleaner and no dressing required although a occasional cleaning with a boron stick is needed. You can't dress them down for those itty bitty pico and nano teeth though.
somewhere around here i have a wiring diagram to make any of the single direction units bi-directional just need a dpdt ,co ( Double Pole Double Throw, Center Off) switch to make it work.

On a chain grinder can you take a DPDT CO switch and connect it into the line cord and forget the Cap. The schematic shows the cap before the switch so I am thinking it was added to the circuit and not part of the existing motor or is it needed for phase shifting and if so then what size cap do you use.

Would that capacitor not already be in the start circuit ?

If you just want to try it in reverse you can use an air nozzle to get it spinning in reverse then switch it on. That flimsy burr doesn't cause any issues but the crap coming towards you sucks.

Try a wheel from Dynasaw I got mine from bailey's. If you ever wear it out just have it replated. And if you want a special wheel make your own body and have it plated in whatever you desire.

Ok I get it now. The schematic is showing the existing wiring for the motor but with a DPDT CO switch put in place of the original switch. That would work.
