Ashwatcher does. But I don't figure I'm gonna find any rails. I don't think any trains went through the yard. And it'd be silly over a big hole
Any chance that's an old septic tank? Guy I work with dug his tank up at his old farmhouse and found that the top was made of 2 layers of thick Locust planks...
As others have mentioned....landscaping timbers? It looks like it may be on a hill side. Erosion control?
It would seem that record keeping isn't so great around here. No-one seems to know where my current septic is. Including the company that performed service on it in 2009, a year before we bought the place. I've not bothered to deep dive the property history. Guess it should become a priority. Boring chit..
Grab a cheap one of these Chaz and your gonna have to cut the pipe going outta the house and have someone listening for it as you pull back and forth. Trust me they will hear it. Little bell tie wrapped at end will help also. Electrician's Fish Tape, 50-ft | Canadian Tire
Actually, there's a line that is supposed to feed to the tank, but they only "roughly" told Chazsbetterhalf where I should start digging. (I was at work) It's a start I guess. I'll just be digging holes around here this year. Glad I've got the tractor.
Does your county or state have lidar mapping available online? If your discovery is part of something bigger there's a chance it would show up on lidar.
Right in front of the house, across the road, and down a hill there are train tracks. Here 1 train a day. Used to see but trees are getting to big. Lol
Just be careful man, it'd suck to fall in a well, or collapse your septic tank. Lots of old sceptics covered in wood.
