27° and I'm tired of cold. Supposed to get to 65° tomorrow! 50° or so today. No grandson today, he's got a birthday party at Cowabunga Inflatable Playground to go to. I'll definitely work outside today, yesterday was too windy and chilly.
MAYBE our friend who's low on wood will finally come and take some. I could really use some room in my stacks.
We met with the solar guy yesterday, I think we'll do it on a lease basis. Basically it means you're buying your own power, at a $ rate that is fixed over time, and cheaper than our average winter electric bill. Outright it would cost 40 grand, can't see doing that. The other option is a 20 year loan at 4.99%, don't like that either.
I found a little dead ash that wasn't punky at the dump yesterday. I'd like to find a lot more!
Hope you all have a fun day!

Have you run the numbers as to where the break even point is? IE: savings over the lease payments?

What happens at the end of the lease? The panels are taken back?

I've always opted to skip on them. I don't want more holes in my roof. With just the two of us, we don't use much electricty, except the days the AC was running.

We use lots of electricity in the summer, with the AC and the pool. That way it was explained, on the days when we generate more power than we use ( spring and fall), it goes into the grid, and we get credit for it when we're drawing a lot. We have a metal roof, so it will clip onto the standing seams. We have to look at the cost projection more closely, and I'll have to ask about what happens to the panels at the end of the lease.

Good morning everyone, I hope that in your little corner of the earth, things are OK! Who knows what this week will bring, but at least it comes with warmer weather. I'm going to focus on yard cleanup, in case later I get conscripted to do child care. Already a smattering of school closings in the Boston area.
I splurged on spring bulbs last fall, so glad I did! IMG_20200309_22657.jpg IMG_20200309_3283.jpg
Take joy in the little things!

    Good morning y'all. I found some... 0309200803.jpg
Hope y'all have a MARVELOUS MONDAY. We are going to get some trees this morning. Still haven't gotten new grandson yet. Hope he will wait till Wednesday. I haven't gotten to drop any trees in a month or two, so I'm excited to be bringing some wood home. Y'all be encouraging, share that smile, tell someone about GOD'S LOVE. We are blessed, especially if we are vertical and ventilated.
    GOD LOVES YOU AND ME.

The crappies are very pretty. The flowers are iris reticulata, a minor spring bulb.
