I have been eyeing up 2 dead elm at work now sense last summer. They are in the field we are box spreading menure in right now so I have a beat down path from the tractor. So I asked about taking them down yesterday before I left and got the okay. I figure I only had a day or 2 left before I wouldn't be able to get to them again from mud so I left earlyer this morning well it was still froze and got it done. There was a smaller one I cut down as well but I guess that photo didn't save when I took it.
There was a couple of smaller dead popple trees I was going to finish the load off with but the sun was already starting to melt the snow so I loaded up and got out of the field well I still could, 2 wheel drive doesn't do will with crumbly melting snow and mud.
Well done Redneckchevy Better to work in snow and mud than in manure. Im pretty good at spreading manure, but just not that kind!
I don’t have that much trouble splitting standing dead elm. Much easier than this little bit of live cottonwood I took down this spring and tried splitting today
buZZsaw BRAD Lol, that's for sure, I get covered in it enough at work, don't need to go playing in a field of it. Woodsnwoods I took the isocore out with me and took a few swings at one of the trunk logs, it was just like bouncing a ball off the floor, no cracking or anything, just bounced right back up after hitting it. I gave up and loaded the whole, the same way they are going in the OWB as well lol
