Haven't been able to do much lately, raining on my days off, but finally catching a break. Worked about an hour this morning, got some hickory and white oak bucked, got to split and deliver tomorrow.
Had nice weather today, managed to stay up after working last night. Got all the front row and maybe half the back row of the hickory split and loaded, then did about half the white oak. Added some tulip poplar for kindling. Got this load delivered... Then we started on the next load. Finished splitting the white oak rounds and cut one more log up. Got all that loaded and added more of the tulip poplar for kindling. Got it delivered... I'm tired, guess I will check in tomorrow. Got a friend from church is coming by to get a little cooking wood.
Just wondering. I have noticed that you do a lot of bucking, splitting and loading the truck and then delivering. Where all these standing dead and any idea on moisture content?
Thanks, buddy. He got the rest of the hickory from the box, a few pieces of pecan ans a couple arm loads of oak limb rounds...I called him late this afternoon, said it burned great, got his other wood burning good.
The white oak is green, only been cut a few weeks, the hickory was cut spring last year, small logs, tulip poplar was split early last year. I have told them the oak is green, they have some dry wood, stocking up for later.

...we had a great year, dry summer, so grass cutting was slow, got about 11/12 cords CSS in the sheds by Sept. Only have maybe 1 cord left, have cut more since, just CSS on the truck and deliver. Finally worked our way through the 2 yr old pile, hated it sat that long, had a lot of cull wood. But us or mama burns that. Got some more trees to get , just need the rain to stop... Thanks brother
Didn't rain today...woo hoo...so we did cut and split some wood today. First we split 1/3 cord of 16" white oak to refill this shed. Then we cut a big box full of 18" for mom's house Made a support leg for the splitter table. Finished sorting this load of white oak, got all the smaller limb wood ready to cut on the jig. Bucked the big log in front, that's it on the splitter ramp Had enough to finish this end of the limb wood shed. Even with 20-25 mph winds today, it felt great to get out in the sun and make some chips...
Great to see you folks back in action. I like the jig for the skinnies. Is that usually a two person operation?
Worked solo yesterday, my hunny had grandson duty...got the big rounds on the splitter ramps done and then CS some smaller logs. Got one box full CSS. Oh, in the middle of splitting, got a call from my neighbor, they got their 4x4 truck stuck. Went over and pulled him out too.
