    Many talk about the wooly catarpilars in the fall, but yesterday as my wife and I were out on our daily walk, we saw one. Alive and well. Don't think I've ever seen one this early.

    His colors said not much snow so maybe seeing it in the spring means a dry summer?

    We're still in winter here with some bonus warm days. But, still winter. No trees budding, or grass or weeds or flies etc. We might see a caterpillar in 2 months but more likely 3 months. And tell your Mrs I'm sorry and commiserate.

    Have seen a couple honey bees already this year , they looked like they were trying to get warned up in the sun and weren't moving too quick but they were out. Seems early for them too.

    Received a note from a friend this morning. He is 50 miles east of us. Saw red winged blackbirds yesterday and this morning even before sunup he has a robin hopping around. Hope they bring a good spring this year.

    Well, a damp spring around here, is useful in keeping gypsy moth caterpillars in check. This is due to the bacteria that attacks them, doesn't spread as much in dry weather.

    I see the wooly caterpillars in my wood piles as I take what I need up to the house. But no don't usually see them outside of that, this early.
    I'm with you all, no wash out spring.. "normal" would be nice
