I've been adding synthetic 2-stroke oil to my fuel (Amsoil Interceptor), hoping that helps.....

Emissions regulations, increased cost, decreased mileage, HP wars are all reasons I plan on never buying a new diesel. If I wanted to drop 75-90k on a new truck I’d do a custom 1 ton 4 door with a 12 valve Cummins and either a 6 spd manual or Allison automatic. In a 40’s-50’s Power wagon, IH or a Chevy!

Today’s one ton trucks are not one tons they are between 2 ton and single axel semi’s produced pre 2000. Today’s 1/2 ton is comparable to a one ton in the 80’s.

I always thought that commercial was annoying.
I'm a bit surprised that ram doesn't have a step. These trucks are so high now they practically need a ladder:doh:

Especially given that GM is so proud of their new step tailgate.

There's one reminder of GM's crappy marketing again. Trying to make fun of an ingenious invention, only to end up one upping the originator ~10 yrs later with the multipro tailgate. The big difference is cost. Ford put the step on every trim level (or at least most) while the multipro tailgate is only on GMC ( for now) and only on extremely high level trims. That step is super handy, even for a guy that's only 1" shorter than Mr Long's advertised height of 6'5". But we all know that the height that the NFL players list isn't always truthful. I ran into a guy that when he played football in college was listed at 6'5", and I was about 2.5" taller than him. Lol.

Yes, I remember the cutouts in the rear gm bumpers, those sort of work.

Ram has this to contend with Ford and GMC.

Now that barn door tailgate ram offers, you can simply step on the bumper where it's cut out for the license.

Just got a new to me truck. I need a truck with 6 belts and that limits what’s out there. I am not a brand guy, I have owned all three major diesel truck makers. I am a fits my needs/best deal.

    It’s a ‘18 2500 with rubber floor, cloth seats, 6 speed manual and 6 seat belts. 13940B5B-C4BC-4D24-A421-EF91D10F014E.jpeg

Who rides in the middle front? I had a 2004 crew cab 6 speed manual 5.9, had a person ride in the middle front once, we got pretty familiar with each other...

Now I’ve a 2018 Mega Cab 6.7 with slush box, I really miss selecting my own gears.

Steps are for people that actually use their trucks.

They are also for those that are not so cheap that they actually get a couple of options ;)

I could've used the base convertible bench with 3 seats in front in October. I've got the front buckets. We fit in 4 wide in the back seat of the supercrew. Yes, not legal, but they fit, and they were not uncomfortable. It was a short couple mile drive.

    Hopefully the ole lady....

I have 4 kids, normally we will take the Suburban. Just don’t want a vehicle that limits options. That front middle seat is a last resort.

18 is the last year of the manual transmissions for the Rams.

when we take the 02 6 speed that rattles your teeth, which is the wifes favorite truck, she sits in the middle a lot. I work around it.
