    19 outside. 84 inside.

Cloudy and breezy. Wind really makes it feel cold. But we're supposed to get to 26 today and 32 tomorrow.
Congratulations to you and your bride! may you celebrate many, many more.

Not much change in the weather here, warm days and cold nights......There could be some snow tonight and tomorrow....Haven't burned much wood so far.

Just getting the stove going with some pine and spruce. It was sunny earlier but all the blue sky and sun warmth is gone.

Got a question for you hoarders with a cat stove. With temps starting to warm up for some of us, when you have a small fire what is your temp range. Do you keep it just above cat temp? I worry about creosote. I should also add that room temps below 75 I get cold. Thanks.

I thought so too, but that is what they mentioned. I know we have at least 20". I have an extension for my auger for when it gets over 30" some winters.

I noticed that hat too. His daughter is an engineering student at UA.

I don't worry much about the stove temperature but when it gets warmer, especially like it is supposed to this week, I simply regulate things by how much and what type of wood goes into the stove. I rarely will put more than 3 small pieces into the stove in those temperatures. Yes, it means a lot of re-lights but that is okay and a simple task to perform when you start to chill. I will put more in before hitting the sack though so it stays warm all night.

20 here. Supposed to really warm up starting today with high 40's forecast. That's okay with me. I'll be happy to get rid of the little snow we have. It's now been several winters since we've had any deep snow here. The last one I recall was way back in 2013. Amazing run. We've had some cold winters since then but very little snow. But right here we are a long way from the snow belt areas and too far from the pond to get lake effect.

17 now going to 44, so I'm hesitant to have a fire.......maybe just a small one, eh? :dex:
