Pretty good start to the weekend. Family is welcoming the arrival of our 2nd Grandson, Hunter Joseph, born Friday 2/28. 9lbs.8 oz. 22 in. long. He and mom doing well. For those of you that have been here for awhile this is the same son that was so sick 3 yrs ago when his first son was born. He has really done well for himself since, recovered from his illness and has a great job as a gas welder. Now he can enjoy his little son and help his wife caring for two young ones. I am a very proud pop pop.

Got up to snow this morning.....
We had to return the trailer back to the fella we got the cat from today.

    The trip went without incident....

I have been stressed out over this cat thing since late in January when I got the call on my want ad..

So many things can go sour, even when you have $$$$ down on something.

Getting the cat home without incident was a great feeling...then getting it off the trailer without issue was a good thing.

The final part was getting the guys trailer back to him...

Dropped it off about 10:30 AM

    A great sigh of relieve.....

    Chapter closed....

    My kitty now....:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

If it had a problem waking from sleep mode, you can do a forced shutdown by holding down the power button for 4 seconds.

getting to the bottom of my pellets at home, only 35 bags or so. pulled these three out for a photo op! 3 brands NLA.

Blazers (West Oregon Wood) closed down, Maine Woods softwood not being currently produced, and EZBlaze blend because of a (reported) shortage in hardwood fiber.

Yesterday was cool, but dry and I wanted to get the lid off the rear differential in the Cat

There was water in the diffy when we pulled the drain plug....

    Never a good sign.....
Things are ugly, but not that bad.

Gonna have to get the box apart, wash it all up, buff off the rusty crusties and replace the main carrier bearings and the pinion bearings and a few seals.

NOT WHAT I WANTED TO DO.....

But the gears look good (AS IN NOT WORN BADLY)
These big cats are tough on gears when they are equipped with a 14 foot blade and are used hard grooming.

Looks to me like the box does not have all that many hours on it.....
Just some idiot left the vent hose off the box allowing water to get in.

But the best part is it's a usable gear box.

These can sell for $5000 in good shape, so I was very nervous about what was inside....
