346 is probably on more wish lists than any other saw

I’d find a clean used 372 of either variety and get it ported. Done right, they’ll pull and oil 24” with ease and 36” when you need it

For occasional use is all the more reason to buy 90cc in my opinion. If you had to carry it around all day I could see size being an issue for some people. With 90cc you have the balls when you need it.

I hear ya sawMik. What’s the most like my 550xp? I just love that saw. Runs strong, has an attitude, just puts a smile on your face when you run it. Having a hard look at the 572 vs a 90 or 95. 572 with a 28” seems like a good combo from what I’ve been reading and most like my current setup, just bigger.

It's not that I don't like 70cc saws...you aren't carrying the thing around all day..so who cares what it weighs..plus you're young, I think if you get a 395 you won't be wishing you had more power when you cut/noodle big logs.

    Personal opinion.

    Most like your 550 ? .. 261-346-5105-501 to name a few.

If I kept 3 chainsaws it would be my 201,261,661..nothing within reason I couldn't cut efficiently.

Man you guys really got me thinking. If I’m going to drop 800-900 on another saw. Is that a 70 or 90?

Seems like a 576 can been had for 600-800 used. A new 572 for about 1k including taxes and a used 395 is 800 or so.

Had a guy give a quote today to drop some bigger ash trees thanks to EAB. Would really to tackle most of them myself but don’t have the bar/saw to do it right.

394/5 is a hoss. You can put a 24" on it or a 50". There wood be no tree too large. If you found a 576 in the same range, I'd definitely pass it by. Just my personal preference.

I see you are a husqy guy. How about a Makita dolmar 7200/7900? You can even build one up from a 6400.

Home Depot sells the barely used 6400's around $300, so just put a bigger p+c on it and a longer bar and chain.

As a 64cc saw it's a little heavy, but as a 79-85cc saw it's pretty light. Also, my 6421 seems to cut faster than my buddy's magnum 460 which is a 79cc saw. These saws are lighter than the 460as well.

If you've got EAB around you, you'll need a bigger saw to get the big trunks scrounged.

Had a pleasant surprise to walk into the shop and see $150 instant rebate I didn’t know about which was awesome. Walked out with the saw, 28” bar, can of fuel for extended warranty, two chains and the sharp force combo file.

All you down below the 3 score and ten plus will discover the use of around 50cc saws and bars around 18".
Be warned. For the 4 or 5 cords a year do you really need a 28" bar ( like the time it takes to sharpen ? ) ?
Try out a classic 346XP, a MS261, or the other pro 50cc saws for a day WITH a shorter bar. Less tired, safer, almost as fast, more time for ale..
You say you 'need' a longer bar for those 25" DBH trees or to save the back bucking. Not necessarily necessary.
    Try it.
