    While I was in the woods taking pics of the other tree id, I noticed this tree. I do not have very many of these, whatever it is. Very flaky bark. Not long and thin like Shagbark, but rather large squareish flakes.

    Black birch. Grab a twig, scratch off the bark and see if it smells minty.
