For the last two months Ive been having some pain in my right foot and its been getting worse. About two weeks ago I went to the doctor and he took xrays and told me he thought it was do to having high arches and a twist in my foot that is some sort of defect. I had the same problem two years ago in my other foot but its just been getting worse so Ive been back to see him twice and he tried a couple other things that havent helped so today I went to another doctor and he took more xrays and found a stress fracture Cast is on for 4-6 weeks hopefully I can still work with it on.
Probably work out if your not a ballerina.............LOL Seriously though, take care of it and get back on your feet being well healed.
Ill have to learn how to spin around on my other foot No Im just a substation electrician I am nowhere near graceful enough to be a ballerina.
I had a friend that had a similar problem and by the time she got it diagnosed correctly it was a lot worse, took longer to heal and still is not right , I hope all goes well for you
That has become a problem I am required to wear steel or composite toes at work I was really hoping they would let it slide but they sent me home today. I am now trying to find some sort of an insert or cover that would allow me to return to work. If anyone knows of something like this please let me know I cant sit at home for the next six weeks not collecting a check.
If the fx can be shown to be work related, they will either give workmans comp or find something else for you to do they don't have to show days lost to due to job related injury.
Thanks Luke. We've already chatted about it via PM. You get one chance to heal a fracture right the first time so do whatever the doc tells you to do. If your job requires a lot of walking on concrete you could possibly make a claim of it being job related but that's a tough one to prove. They do make steel toe rubber overboots but I doubt they would work with a CAM walker cast.
No idea its been creeping up on me for the last two months I dont take any scrips and rarely take an aspirin or aleve. I cant pin this on work although its likely it occurred there since Ive been there seven days a week for the last couple of months, there is no incident that sticks out in my mind that I can pin this on I dont remember any trauma occurring at a particular time and there is no incident report at work so pinning this on work is not likely to happen. Thanks again for all your help and advice Brian Ive been looking at those and other things like that and so far nothings going to work Ive got a few other ideas that Im going to try out but Im not feeling very confident about them, so Ive already applied for the member relief fund through my union and temporary disability through my insurance company. I really appreciate all the well wishes and Im sure this will heal up in no time.
Sorry to hear about your injury and I hope you heal faster that anticipated. Next problem will be when you are able to wear all of your right side footwear; you'll notice a steady list and pull to the left since all of your left side footwear will be worn out a bit more!
