That’s a nice looking stove. What brand & model is it? What length pieces of wood can you put in it? Sharp looking indeed. Nice choice!:)

What is a Snorkel Hot Tub ? Do you need one ? How do you walk from house to hot tub in snow ?
What do you drink while in tub ? Why is this %$&@ asking stupid questions ? :startled:
And...why don't we use the Snorkel in Summer ? Do you care ? :headbang:
How many cords does the Snorkel use in a season ? :faint:

Looks similar to an Englander VL 17. But for the arch top door, maybe its an earlier model?

As close As close as I can figure about 3 cords. I had brought 2 cords up to the house and have about 1/2 cord of the good stuff left waiting on the cold snap. I have been bring Ash up to the house to fill the stack as it goes down. From the stack in the storage area it would be 1 1/2 cords additional.

I was interested before. Post up a thread on the wood fired hot tub.:)

Ok, now that it's almost March, I'm officially not refilling my patio stack. I don't mind moving a bit back to the stacks at the end of burning season, but I don't want to move too much. If anything I'm more apt to sell/ give it to my friends for summer/ fall fire pit burning.

< snorkel.com > The site does a nice job of peddling the cedar tubs with pics, options, testimonies.
We've had 3 of the Snorkel in past decades here and in northern Mass. The aluminum and cast stoves heat under the water, loading from the top.
The last tub started to leak after 18 years though I did try the wooden boat trick of sawdust mixed in. Not a success.
So we got a new Snorkel kit but downsized it from 6' x 4' deep dia to 5' x 4" deep using the old Snorkel stove.
The tub uses softwood blowdowns for firewood...about 2-2.5 cords a year. With temps in the teens or below, it takes a couple of hours
to get the tub to ~ 105 F top and bottom stirred with an oar. No filter, just change the water after a couple of weeks.
Nice for a night drink looking at stars. You romantic ?
